The principles that make a massage with herbal swabs effective are the same both in Ayurveda and in ancient European tradition: the warmth of the hot oil helps to relax the contracted muscles and at the same time promotes the release of active ingredients contained in the medicinal herbs of the mixture, useful for relaxation and anti-inflammatory action.

put 2/3 tablespoons of mixture in the middle of a cotton cloth. Once filled, hold the ends of the cloth and close the pad with the tape by wrapping it several times. Allow the swabs to soften for about a minute in the Rice Bran Oil. Heat the swabs with steam.

ALPINE HAY: We have always known the many applications very useful to man and the fantastic healing properties of hay that gives physical well-being due to relaxation caused by heat and the absorption of the active ingredients of the herbs, by the hydro-saline turnover and the purification of the skin induced by sweating, by the stimulation of the peripheral circulation that gives tone to the skin. The beneficial effects depend on the active substances contained in medicinal herbs that can have anti-phlogistic, calming, vasodilating, antibacterial, relaxing, analgesic, revulsive and bring relief in the presence of cramps, strains, back, shoulder and cervical pain, rheumatism, osteoarthritis, joint stiffness. The heat releases the fragrance of the herbs of the alpine pastures and accompanies a pleasant feeling of relaxation of the body and mind. The herbs used grow spontaneously in the mountains, with the same love with which we grow and harvest our plants we reap the hay of our meadows in which there is no pasture. Of its numerous plants, we counted up to about a hundred species … then we stopped!
ST. JOHN’S WORT (Hypericum perforatum): healing, antiseptic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory. Useful to bring benefit and relieve pain in case of sciatica, rheumatism, arthritis.
VERBENA (Verbena officinalis): useful for bringing benefit and relieving pain in case of rheumatism, bruising, neuralgic and joint pain, helping to regress the oedema if present.
LAVENDER (Lavandula angustifolia): boasts cleansing, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antibacterial, healing and decongestant properties. Lavender also has a balsamic action on the respiratory tract, which is why it is used effectively in the treatment of all colds: flu, cough, cold and phlegm. The sedative properties are the best known: lavender is excellent against stress, anxiety, nervousness, to appease nerves, migraines and insomnia. Balsamic and decongestant properties: usually we think of mint and eucalyptus, while lavender is also an excellent natural remedy against cough, cold and flu in general. Anti-spasmodic properties: lavender has excellent carminative properties and is good for calming intestinal pains and relaxing muscles. Antiseptic and antibacterial properties: Lavender preparations for external use can be used to treat burns, wounds, insect bites and mouth irritations. Anti-inflammatory and anti rheumatic properties: it is ideal for calming joint pain in the back, neck, head and sciatic nerve. Analgesic properties: lavender is excellent for calming pain in general even those caused by the menstrual cycle.
NETTLE (Urtica dioica): useful to bring benefit on painful areas in case of arthritis, rheumatism, sciatica, tendinitis, distortion.
BIRCH (Betula alba): thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, it is used to relieve joint pain, rheumatism and arthritis. The plant is also one of the remedies in the elective treatment of cellulite, as it helps the elimination and disappearance of the connective fibre nodules, characteristic of this skin imperfection. Its draining power can be used against swelling of the legs and ankles, caused by fatigue and poor circulation.
GINGER (Zingiber officinale): locally activates blood circulation, warms, stimulates and soothes pain. It brings benefit in the presence of arthritis, muscle pain, sprains back pain, rheumatic pain. Useful on sore joints especially in periods of cold and humidity.
HIMALAYAN PINK SALT: contains 84 trace elements including the iron that gives it its pink colour, in addition to calcium, copper and zinc. It is great for fighting allergies, respiratory diseases and skin problems. Himalayan salt has remarkable purifying, detoxifying and invigorating properties that help this product to bring numerous benefits to our body. Poultices are beneficial in cases of toothache, earache, muscle contractions, cervical contractions, back muscle contractions, joint pain, menstrual pain, rheumatism and in all cases where the application of warm wraps is advisable. It has an analgesic and muscle relaxant action: the heat lowers the perception of pain and relaxes muscles and tendons, increasing their elasticity.
MOUNTAIN BEAN MEAL: Bean meal is a food rich in mineral salts and useful for emollient and decisive poultices.
OATMEAl: the hot poultice has anti-inflammatory properties and helps counteract low back pain, intercostal pain, rheumatic pain.
BUCKWHEAT FLOUR: Hot compresses with buckwheat reduce cramps, soothe nerve contractions of the intestine and are also great for reducing discomfort caused by painful menstruation.
RYE FLOUR: the hot poultice attenuates abscesses, inflammation, bruising and paternal injuries.
